Some History

Ten years ago I started working for myself and set up my own hairdressing business at home. After years of working in salons all over the world I realised that, whist I love hairdressing, I’d much rather work in a calmer more relaxing environment than in a busy salon. I treat each client individually and feel that it’s important to do this in the right environment to get the best results. Some of my services take a few hours, so most of my clients like being in a more private and relaxing space.

Today

I specialise in new and innovative services that transform your hair and your life. Yuko System Permanent Hair Straightening is still as popular now as it was 12 years ago when it first arrived on our shores from Japan. I gained an award in 2012 and 2014 from Great Lengths Hair Extensions, which are undoubtedly the best extensions worldwide. More recently The Brazilian Keratin Treatment or ‘Brazilian Blow Out’ has proved very popular as a ‘hair taming service’. Not everyone wants the poker straight look achieved by Yuko System, so this is an excellent alternative for both texture and condition.

The latest thing in hairdressing is the new Momoko Digital Curl. Loose waves and curls are more fashionable now, so this replaces the old ‘eighties-style’ perms. Momoko also offer a straightening service which is not as flat as Yuko. I call it “straight with body”.

Work Experience

2003 – present – Hair by Jasper ( Bristol) – Creative Director

Hair by Jasper focuses on Yuko System and Great Lengths Hair Extensions, as well as standard cut and colour services. More recently I have also started offering make-up services. I promote the business primarily through the website www. Hairbyjasper.com and have built up a good client base. Recently I have started to offer Microdermabrasion by Crystal Clear. An excellent way to get smoother, fresher skin!

1998 – 2003 Reflections (Bristol)

During this time I worked across two of the chain’s busiest salons in Bristol developing a broad range of skills. Clientele was mainly the young and trendy.
